Privacy policy

ReceiptDeck scans, corrects, reviews, and exports receipts. Its core features work locally on your device. This policy explains what the app accesses, what remains on your device, and what is sent only when you enable an optional extraction provider.

Information handled by the app

ReceiptDeck does not require an account. The app handles the receipt information you choose to capture or import, together with information you add or correct.

  • receipt photographs and corrected receipt images
  • text recognized on the device and extracted receipt facts, such as merchant, date, totals, currency, line items, and masked payment details when visible
  • your edits, review status, Deck names, timestamps, image dimensions, receipt identifiers, and integrity hashes
  • local processing and network measurements, such as processing duration, upload size, connection timing, protocol, and token counts when a provider reports them
  • an optional provider endpoint, model identifier, image-quality settings, and provider-consent status

Camera, Photos, and files

ReceiptDeck asks for camera access only when you use its receipt scanner. It uses the camera preview and the photo you take to detect, correct, and save a receipt.

You may instead use Apple's Photos picker. The app receives only the photos you select through that picker; it does not request unrestricted access to your photo library.

ReceiptDeck creates images, text summaries, comma-separated value files, reports, and Deck archives only when you choose a share or export action. Apple and the destination you select then control the shared copy under their own terms.

On-device processing and storage

Receipt detection, perspective correction, image-quality checks, and optical character recognition use Apple frameworks on your device. Receipt images, corrected images, extracted facts, edits, and Deck records are stored in the app's Application Support area with iOS file protection.

Local data remains until you delete the receipt or Deck, uninstall the app, or erase the device. Deleting a receipt removes its known local images and extraction file. Deleting a Deck removes its local receipt files. Temporary export files are created for sharing and are later managed by the operating system.

Provider configuration is stored on the device. If you enter an API key, it is stored in the iOS Keychain with this-device-only protection and is not included in ReceiptDeck exports.

Optional AI receipt extraction

Receipt extraction is off unless you configure your own public HTTPS OpenAI-compatible provider and approve sending receipts to that provider. Consent is tied to the provider host and is invalidated when the provider changes.

When enabled, ReceiptDeck connects directly to the provider you selected. It may request the provider's model list and sends the chosen model an optimized corrected receipt image, an extraction prompt and schema, a receipt identifier, and an image hash. Your API key is sent to that provider for authentication. The provider returns extracted receipt facts and may receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address.

The selected provider's privacy, security, retention, training, and deletion terms apply. Larches Technologies does not control a third-party provider and cannot delete data retained by it; contact that provider for its retention and deletion options. ReceiptDeck Cloud is shown as unavailable and is not used by this version of the app.

Analytics, diagnostics, advertising, and tracking

The app does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, Google Analytics, a third-party analytics SDK, or a third-party crash-reporting SDK. ReceiptDeck does not automatically send Larches Technologies your receipt library, app usage, device identifier, or local processing measurements.

Apple may provide aggregated App Store or diagnostic information to the developer according to your device and App Store settings. Apple controls that processing under Apple's privacy policy. A provider you configure may separately log requests under its own terms.

Data received when you contact support

If you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and maintain a record of the request. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and applicable legal obligations, then deleted according to our normal mailbox and record-management practices.

We do not sell personal information and do not use support information for targeted advertising.

Your choices and deletion

You can keep extraction off and use local capture, correction, review, sharing, and export. You can remove provider settings and the API key in Settings. You can delete individual receipts or complete Decks inside the app.

Because the app has no ReceiptDeck account or Larches-hosted receipt library, we normally cannot view or remotely delete data stored only on your device. For information you sent to support, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete it, subject to applicable law and any record we must retain. Requests should be sent from the email address involved so we can verify them appropriately.

Children

ReceiptDeck is a general-purpose receipt utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly ask a child to create an account or provide information to Larches Technologies. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent personal information to support may contact us to request its deletion.

International users

Local app data stays on the device unless you choose to share or export it or enable a provider. A provider or share destination may process data in countries outside your own, under its terms. Support requests and this support website may also be processed in Canada and by the service providers described in the Larches Technologies website privacy policy. Privacy rights vary by location; we will handle verified requests as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and the date above before or when a material change to ReceiptDeck's data practices takes effect. App features described as unavailable or planned are not treated as current data practices.
